Family of Music

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is my Dad, first generation. He played Upright bass and sang.
He mostly free-lanced until he formed his own group
"The Harmonaires". He worked mostly supper clubs and played
music from the '40s and '50s
This is me, second generation. I studied classical piano from
the age of 2.5 years old until I was 16 years old. I stopped due
to the fact that my teacher passed away and I couldn't find
anyone else I felt comfortable with. I made my public debut at my
Grandfathers 65th birthday party which was held at a supper
club where my Dad was working. I played my Moms favorite piece
'Fur Elise' by Beethoven. I studied a bit more on my own until
the 'War' came up and I went into the Air Force. After I came home I got
together with my cousin who was a drummer and we formed the group pictured below.
The group was called "Nature's Fault". We were originally four when we started in 1972; guitar (center), bass (bottom left),drums (top right) and keyboards (me, bottom right). About a year later we added a trumpet player (top left). We all sang so we were able to do songs from Chicago, War, Moody Blues etc. We also did a non-stop 50s oldies medley. We were all from Phila. and worked that area and New Jersey. We also did some work in the Pocono mountains and New York. We worked together until 1980 when I had to leave for medical reasons.
The following is a list of songs played by the band in 1973 at a Leukemia Benefit
for WIBG radio in Phila. Pa hosted by D J Don Cannon.
Slippin Into Darkness
Down By The River
Sympathy For The Devil
Jesus Christ Superstar
The following list is from a 'live' recording at "Di Nucci's Lounge" in Bensalem, Pa.
This is my son, third generation. He is a self-taught bass player.
He started when he was in the Air Force and continues to play today.
He has played in various bands in New Jersey and Oklahoma.
He is presently forming another band in Oklahoma. His main
music style is rock and blues. His favorite artist is blues guitarist
Monte Montgomery.
